Tom Waller has been the Senior Vice President of Innovation at adidas since joining the company in January 2022. In this role Tom is responsible protecting, growing and transforming the brand and business through incubation and delivery of net new positioning, products, services and experiences in the name of the future of sport. He leads a globally distributed and multi-disciplinary group of business strategists, scientists, technologists and creatives and is the originator of an innovation methodology underpinned by deep domain expertise in the ‘human experience of performance’.
Formerly Chief Science Officer at lululemon, Head of Aqualab for Speedo and a pivotal member of Loughborough University’s Sports Technology Institute, Tom is relentless in his pursuit of net new value creation for the world. His unique approach of blending start-up economics, sensory perception and human achievement has resulted in iconic impact on the biggest sporting stages, generated billions of dollars, won gold medals, set world records and enhanced the culture of sports and leisure at scale.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering as well as a PhD in Sports Technology, both from Loughborough University in the UK.
His personal endeavours as a TEDx speaker, mountain adventurer and endurance athlete combine to fuel his energetic disruption of industry and society.
