From athlete to international sports executive, Mayi has worked in the sports industry for over 20 years. She brings a deep understanding of sports and football: governance, business, development, athlete well-being, educational initiatives, human rights, and leadership development.
Mayi has collaborated with global leaders, governments, and NGOs with experience in the public and private sector. Focused on impact initiatives throughout her career; her work has been instrumental to developing worldwide programmes of which hundreds of thousands of individuals have benefited. Her experience goes from academics to the IOC, World Archery, FIFA, The Adecco Group to co-founding Sports Equity+ International.
She is recognised for creating one of FIFA’s more advanced development programmes portfolios, with impact in over 190 countries. Mayi led the transformation of women’s football development for close to a decade; introduced holistic legacy programmes for all FIFA Women’s Competitions 2008-2017; launched the first ever FIFA leadership programme for women in football; and the Live Yours Goal global campaign which expanded to 72 countries.
In her role at the Adecco Group; Mayi leads the solutions and offering to the sports industry. Her portfolio includes the collaboration with global sport bodies including the IOC; and she represents the Group at the council of the Centre for Sport and Human Rights.
Born in Cuba, Mayi has dual Swiss nationality, she graduated in Sports Sciences and; holds an International Master degree: in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport and is THNK- School of Creative Leadership programme fellow.
