Mathieu completed his Ph.D. in 2020 at the Laboratory Of Movement Analysis and Measurements at EPFL. In his thesis, he developed algorithms based on motion sensors with both clinical and sports applications. Mathieu then worked on wearable technology to measure head impacts in sports and characterize the risks of brain injuries associated with repeated head hits. He co-founded the startup Bearmind SA in Nov. 2021 and was selected as theme leader for the first Innosuisse NTN Innovation Booster in sports on the issue of concussions.
