Lily Xu Lijia is China’s first sailing Olympic gold medallist, as well as remaining the only Olympic gold medallist in sailing from any country in Asia.
Throughout her 20-year sailing career, Lily competed in three Olympics, winning bronze in Beijing 2008 and gold at London 2012, both in the Laser Radial class. After the 2016 Rio Olympics, Lily enrolled at Solent University, Southampton, UK, where she undertook a degree in Sports Broadcast Journalism.
Today, Lily is engaged in live sports commentary and as an on-camera presenter across a range of global sports and events including Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Wimbledon, Diamond League Athletics, Volleyball Nations League, ISU Skating Awards and The Ocean Race.
She has her own podcast series focused on sailing – presented in English and Chinese.
