Dr Benaglia works as an Intelligence Analyst at the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) within the Intelligence & Investigations Department. Since joining WADA in 2018, she has been involved in numerous high-profile investigations, collecting, analysing and synthesising evidence from various data sources including anti-doping and legal databases, emails, pictures, and OSINT searches. She utilises data to build intelligence, either reactively to validate intelligence collected from other sources or proactively to identify potential issues. Investigations become data-driven and are thus informed by on-the-ground realities.
These investigations are often conducted in collaboration with other Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs) and law enforcement agencies, necessitating meticulous management of data privacy and confidentiality during information exchanges. Dr Benaglia oversees data privacy compliance within her department, ensuring adherence to the International Standard for the Protection of Privacy and Personal Information (ISPPPI) while managing intelligence and conducting investigations. She is also exploring AI applications to streamline investigative tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
Her expertise in leading data-driven investigations makes her a valuable asset in discussions on leveraging data to achieve impactful outcomes while addressing the challenges of data privacy and security.
