David Grevemberg

David Grevemberg is Chief Innovation and Partnerships Officer for the Centre for Sport and Human Rights (CSHR)  based in Geneva, Switzerland. David engages with actors across the global sports ecosystem to develop innovative solutions and new partnerships to address challenges and harness opportunities in sport and human rights. David oversees business development for the Global Academy for Sport and Human Rights, CSHR’s advisory support services and other significant initiatives. Before joining the Centre in 2021, he served as the Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation CGF for six years from 2014-2021 and as Chief Executive of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (Glasgow 2014 Limited) from 2009-2014. David was the Executive Director of Sport and International Federation Relations at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), headquartered in Bonn, Germany, from 1999-2009. A former competitive wrestler and a black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu, during his career, he also serves as a coach, consultant and Board member on an independent basis with various organisations globally.
