Alberto Bichi is the current Executive Director of European Platform for Sport Innovation– EPSI since 2010. EPSI is a Membership-based networking organisation focusing on innovation in the areas of physical activity, sport, leisure, health and many more. Alberto Bichi coordinates EU national projects on Research and Innovation with focus on the topic identified within EPSI Strategic Research and innovation agenda. He interacts with other Technology platforms on research and Innovation such as ICT, Textile and Footwear. He operates as the “back-bone” of ClusSport, a 10 regions integration around the strategic Sport. Before Alberto Bichi was the Secretary General of Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry – FESI from January 2000 to December 2017. Following a brief working experience at the European Commission’s cabinet of Commissioner Vanni d’Archirafi back in 1994, Mr. Bichi integrated the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) where he soon became member of the Board.
In his professional period at FTA, he was requested to develop and improve the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI), which he did while advancing in the hierarchy: in 1996 he became FESI Member Services Manager, and then in 2000 he became Secretary General.
Throughout the 20 years plus, Mr. Bichi has continued to improve FESI’s overall reputation as the unique voice in Europe for the sporting goods industry.
In June 2012 Mr. Bichi has also became Director of Government Affairs for HDS-L representing The German Footwear & Leather Industry Association.
